Picasso's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hatch Dates: 2014

Picasso is an 11-year-old cute female budgie who was surrendered to our rescue by a woman who was no longer able to care for her. She spent all of her time in her cage with her partner, Piper. However, she has recently showed aggression towards Piper after years of sharing a cage with him, and they unfortunately had to be separated.

Picasso is skittish since her previous owner did not work with her at all, and she remained in her cage full time. Picasso’s foster mom is working on getting her more comfortable around hands and people in general. She is very food motivated, and with the proper patience, Picasso will accept millet from a person’s hand. She is comfortable and happy when people are in the same room, but gets nervous when people start to get too close, or put their hands in her cage.

Picasso loves chattering with the other foster birds that she shares the room with, and she does not screech. She LOVES wood toys and will gladly shred them when given the opportunity. Picasso is also a capable flyer when she needs to, although does not often. Picasso loves a good spray bottle bath, and will happily ruffle her feathers and preen if you give her a spritz!

Picasso is currently on a seed and pellet diet, and is largely unwilling to try new foods. Picasso is a sweet little girl with a lovely personality that shines through when she is met with patience and care.

Picasso is being fostered in Newtown, PA.

We do not ship our adoptable birds.

You must live within driving distance to meet and adopt birds.

For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.

As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes,

we only allow approved

adopters to make the required visits.

If interested in adopting Picasso, please visit our website

ftlob.rescuegroups.org read our adoption policies, see our fees,

and complete an adoption application.
