Pachuca and Raga's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hatch Date: 2023
Pachuca and Raga are a beautiful bonded pair of three year old male (DNA tested not confirmed) Jenday Conures who are currently sharing a cage and must remain together. They are active, energetic birds with strong personalities.
Both birds can be vocal, especially when they begin to engage with one another. One is a particularly strong flyer, and both are semi hand trained. They have spent a period of time primarily caged, which has contributed to some behavioral challenges.
Raga, in particular, has shown territorial tendencies and has been known to fly toward and attempt to bite visitors. In their present home, the presence of small children appeared to trigger jealousy behaviors, with at least one bird attempting to fly toward the children in an aggressive manner.
These birds will require a confident and experienced handler who is willing to work through their behavioral issues with patience and consistency. With the right environment and commitment, we believe progress can be made.
We do not recommend placement in a home with small children, other birds, or other pets unless complete separation can be safely maintained.
Pachuca and Raga are part of our Help With Rehoming Program and are currently located with their owners in Matawan, New Jersey.
We do not ship our birds.
Adoption is limited to homes within driving distance, and multiple visits are required prior to placement.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. We do not have a central facility. Visits are scheduled only after an application has been approved.
If you are interested in adopting this pair, please visit our website at ftlob.rescuegroup.org to review our adoption policies and procedures and to complete an adoption application
