She could tell immediately that this brave boy was asking for help, and thank goodness she was there to answer his call. Mygale had been suffering from a painful condition called stringfoot, where hair, string, or other debris wraps tightly around a bird’s toes and feet, cutting off circulation and causing severe damage over time. By the time Carol found him, this condition had already cost Mygale two toes on each foot. But don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s slowed down – this determined fellow has adapted beautifully and gets around with impressive confidence.<br/>What strikes everyone who meets Mygale is his resilience.
