Megan's Story

Megan was found in Elgin, thin and scrounging for food near a dumpster. Not a great day for her. But even bedraggled and hungry, she was hard to miss.

She’s a beautiful pigeon — the kind who makes you audibly say “oh” when you see her. Lilac and green feathers that shift and shimmer depending on how the light hits. She looks like she was designed by someone with a very specific vision and a lot of opinions about iridescence. She arrived at the rescue underweight and in need of some TLC, but she’s come a long way since then.

Megan is gentle and calm. She doesn’t have a chip on her shoulder about everything she’s been through, which honestly is more grace than most of us would manage. She’s ready for a home that will actually appreciate her — because she is a lot of bird, aesthetically speaking. If you’ve ever wanted a pigeon who doubles as a conversation piece, Megan is your girl!
