Marcel's Story
Meet Marcel! This sweet, charming cockatiel is full of personality and ready to find a loving forever home. Marcel is an assumed male cockatiel, estimated to be between three to four years-old. He was rescued from a neglectful home with an improper diet and spent three years of his live without coming out of a cage. After just a few months in his foster home, Marcel has overcome his fear of hands and steps up when prompted. He's learned to fly but is still working on his landings and recall training. He's a very sweet boy who enjoys whistling, getting his head feathers petted, spending time sitting with his people, exploring his home, and shredding toys. He's still learning to eat a varied diet, but enjoys herbs (dill, basil, thyme), leafy greens like dandelions and arugula, and is adjusting to pellets and some cooked grains.

We believe Marcel previously lived with another cockatiel, and he seems open to having a feathered companion again with careful introduction. However, Marcel firmly believes that "birds of a feather should stick together" and to similary sizes- he does not get along with smaller species (like budgies) and can act aggressively towards them.

If you're looking for a delightful cockatiel companion, Marcel would love to meet you.

PEARL is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Pittsburgh PA.
