He has been DNA sexed male.

Mango had to be surrendered because of some aggressive behavior in his former home, but with the change of scenery as well as some environmental changes, no aggression has occurred in his foster home so far.

He will ride around on his foster mom's shoulder, but has a clear preference for men.
If a man enters the room when he is with his foster mom, he will fly over to him. He is in love with apples, grapes, and nearly any sweet fruit imaginable.

He is still a bit timid with his foster home, and will go back in his cage if someone approaches him, but then will come back out a moment later--- almost like he wants to make sure you're not dangerous before he will trust you to interact without a barrier in front of him.

He has not bitten yet in his foster home, and takes treats nicely from the family's fingers.
The foster home is working on touch training with him. He doesn't step up on hands yet, but shows a lot of promise.

He is always okay to step back on his cage from a shoulder, and puts himself to bed in his cage, although that may change the more comfortable he gets! He is still in the early days in his foster home, so he doesn't like to leave 'home base' much.

He makes his presence known, as do all Sun Conures, but isn't overly noisy or attention seeking. He does the standard bird screaming to match talking and other noise in the room.

Mango is being fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ

We do not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.

As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.

If interested in adopting Mango, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org

Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.
