Lindy's Story
Lindy was bred to race. That means someone trucked him hundreds of miles from home, opened a crate, and timed how fast he could fly back, all before his first birthday. Plenty of racing pigeons never finish that trip. They get lost, hit power lines, meet hawks, or are culled for being too slow, and because they're domestic birds, the ones who go astray can't survive on the streets the way feral pigeons do.

Lindy made it out. Lucky Lindy, you could say, just like the original: Charles Lindbergh, whose 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic caused such a sensation that, as the story goes, Harlem dancers named the Lindy Hop after him.

Our Lindy has retired from long-distance flying, and honestly, he seems relieved. He's one of the most mellow birds we've met. People don't rattle him, new rooms don't rattle him, and he meets the camera with a look that says he's been expecting you. He's also cheeky, which keeps the calm from ever getting boring.

He's snow-white from head to tail, with a pale pink beak, coral-pink feet, a scattering of tan freckles on his head, and one brushstroke of brown feathering across his chest, like an artist signed him. Give him a shallow dish of water and he'll gladly prove that pigeons are fastidiously clean birds. Bath time is one of his favorite things!

Lindy needs an indoor home with someone who wants an easygoing, people-friendly companion with a bit of sass, and a bath dish he can count on. Lindbergh landed in Paris to a crowd of thousands. Lindy only needs one person waiting for him.
