Hello, my name is Joey and I am a Greenwing Macaw. I am a male, but my age is not known. I was living with LOTS of other birds, our owner had become sick and wasn't taking care of us. Eventually, she decided to let us go to rescues. I am quite shy of people. I can be taken out of my cage with a towel and I will sit calmly on a perch. It may take a while before I am comfortable with new people. I may have been a breeder in the past, but no one is sure. I need an experienced owner who can work with me to get used to being handled. Diet: I have a great appetite, I eat everything! Pellets, fruits & veggies, nuts or seeds as treats. Beak n' Wings, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Because most of our birds are in private homes, they are only able to receive visitors by appointment at our facility at our facility at 9010 Rosehill Rd in Lenexa, KS, usually on weekends. We also take them to outside events. If you would like to know where we will be taking them, please visit Beak n Wings, Inc. on Facebook. Our adoption process does take some time, generally a few weeks. As an all-volunteer group we have limited people power and most of our volunteers have full-time jobs as well. Our priority is not to have a speedy process, but a careful one that ensures proper placement of our companion birds.
