Please give us plenty of toys, swings, and perches, and then sit back and watch for hours of entertainment! <br/><br/>We should be fed a variety of pellets, seeds, and fresh veggies & fruits. <br/><br/>Housing requirements: Most housing sold at pet stores is too small for small pets. They are going to be spending most of their lives inside their cage; your housing must be as large as the below or larger (bigger is always better!) in order to adopt this pet.<br/>- For 1-2 parakeets, 22" wide x 16" deep x 27" high. With more birds the cage must be larger<br/>- Bar spacing no wider than inch <br/>- Parakeets need more horizontal flight space than they do vertical.<br/><br/>Parakeets are a social species, meaning they usually enjoy the company of their own kind. If there are two names listed together (eg Peanut Butter w/Jelly), that means that the two animals are a bonded pair of friends, and must be adopted together. <br/><br/>Got a single at home you're looking for a friend for? Any animal listed alone on our website is a single and a great candidate; if there is a group of 3 or more, usually one can be taken out of that group as a companion for your single. <br/>- A new friend will need a separate cage until friendship has been established<br/>- Parakeets are relatively easy to introduce to one another, as long as there is sufficient space
