Goose and Maverick's Story

We are Goose, Turquoise green cheek conure, thought to be male, and Maverick a
Pineapple green cheek conure, thought to be female. Our ages are unknown. Maverick is much more used to humans, while Goose is a scaredy-cat. We came to BNW through an local animal control, so full history isn't known.

We are friendly birds, but not trained to step up or used to being handled
yet. Please use positive reinforcement with us to get us used to human
hands. Don't chase us around or force us to come out of our cage. At home
we would come out of our cage and hang out on top when the door is open and
go back in with some gentle encouragement. We have been through a lot together and would like stay with each other.

We transitioned from all seeds to Zupreem natural pellets in no time. Our
favorite treats are pieces of walnuts, safflower and sunflower seeds. We
also like apples.

With a few weeks of consistent training in our new home we will probably be
very fun birds. Diet: Pellets, fruits & veggies, nuts or seeds as treats. Adoption fee: $1050 for the pair .

Check out our website which explains our adoption process and has answers to most FAQ. Please read this before contacting us. Beak n' Wings adopts with the greater Kansas City area and up to 150 miles of the surrounding area.

We do not ship or trade birds. We do not adopt birds out for breeding. A contract is required at the time of adoption. Adoption fees are not refundable, except as stated in the contract.

Beak n' Wings, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Because most of our birds are in private homes, they are only able to receive visitors by appointment at our facility at our facility at 9010 Rosehill Rd in Lenexa, KS, usually on weekends. We also take them to outside events. If you would like to know where we will be taking them, please visit Beak n Wings, Inc. on Facebook. Our adoption process does take some time, generally a few weeks. As an all-volunteer group we have limited people power and most of our volunteers have full-time jobs as well. Our priority is not to have a speedy process, but a careful one that ensures proper placement of our companion birds. Multiple changes can be difficult for the bird, and we wish to ensure their safety. You can read our adoption process and FAQ on our website.
