Fletcher's Story

Hello, I am Fletcher and I am a Double Yellow Head Amazon. I am about 55 years old and thought to be male. I spent a lot of my life in a very small cage. My owner passed away and I was passed around to a few family members before coming to a home where I was given a bigger cage and allowed to come out on my own. I enjoy coming out of my cage and walking around and I will take treats nicely, but I don't care to be touched much. I am mostly blind from cataracts, but it doesn't keep me from getting around. I say hello. I would make a good companion for someone who isn't looking for a cuddly bird. Diet: Pellets, fruits & veggies, nuts or seeds as treats. Beak n' Wings, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Because most of our birds are in private homes, they are only able to receive visitors by appointment at our facility at our facility at 9010 Rosehill Rd in Lenexa, KS, usually on weekends. We also take them to outside events. If you would like to know where we will be taking them, please visit Beak n Wings, Inc. on Facebook. Our adoption process does take some time, generally a few weeks. As an all-volunteer group we have limited people power and most of our volunteers have full-time jobs as well. Our priority is not to have a speedy process, but a careful one that ensures proper placement of our companion birds.
