Dusty the cockatiel is a classic young cockatiel-- a little bit sassy, a little bit sweet, but with music in his soul! Dusty is your typical 'tiel. He's just getting used to being handled. He can be fearful of hands (especially fingers) and does the sassy cockatiel hiss to let you know. We love an advocate for boundaries! <br/><br/>While he has become more comfortable in his foster home and enjoys coming out of his cage to play, he needs some time to warm up to the idea initially, especially in a new place. As a boundary king, Dusty is quick to head home to his cage when he's done hanging out and needs some "me" time. <br/><br/>He currently has two distinct songs he sings, but a budding artist is always working on more-- in fact, he has a specific vocalization to let you know it's time for bed! Every morning, he will let you know that he hears you and that he wants to start his day. <br/><br/>Some of Dusty's favorite activities include free flying around the home, and enjoying that classic 'tiel vice, millet sprays. He also likes to sit on shoulders and be part of the family, and will nuzzle and sing if the mood strikes him. <br/><br/>Dusty isn't overly loud, so could do well in a home with shared walls. He is indifferent to the other birds in his foster home, tolerates children, but loves to serenade the family dog!
