Why not consider a rooster as your new best friend, Donald isn't just any rooster; he was hatched, hand raised in a home with a very loving family who were crushed that they needed to surrender him. Unfortunately zoning didn't allow this rooster and the neighbors didn't love Donald as much as his family did. Donald, the silkie mix, lived with many different animals to include dogs, cats, goats, and other chickens, he's describes as a bit a ladies man. Donald was also likes to sleep in and didn't start crowing until 10am in his previous home. He loves his people and is very affectionate and was handled often. He's met children that would come over to visit and enjoys the attention. If you're looking for more than just a regular rooster, Donald is your bird. Fly on over to meet Donald he is availble for adoption now! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
