CoCo's Story
Coco is a handsome Orange Winged Amazon. He came to us in May of 2022 after the former owner developed health issues and had to go to the hospital. CoCo was very loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the men. Coco is a great talker and says things like Hi Coco, I'm in trouble, Coco's a pretty bird, What you doing and many more! The previous owners reported that it was very rare if Coco bit anyone; if he did, it was out of fear which is understandable. It is unknown how he is with children, but did have a dog in the previous home.
Coco enjoys lots of time out of the cage; on average, he was used to 4-6 hours of out-of-cage play, where he enjoyed playing on his cage top.
Coco is 16yrs old, which is very young in Amazon years. In captivity, Orange Winged Amazons can live upwards of 50-80yrs when properly cared for.
Amazons are extremely loyal birds and can potentially become protective of their people. It is very important that any potential adopter does a lot of research on Amazons. While they are wonderful companions, they are not for everyone. They can be loud sometimes; therefore, they are not good for apartment living. He will need a cage that, at a minimum, is 24x36x48, as always bigger is better.
Please let us know if you are interested in Coco or any of the birds at Nana and Papa's Nest! We are eager to match you with your perfect feathered companion!

Please complete the prequalified application if you are interested in meeting any of our available parrots.

https://form.jotform.com/Dorothy_dolly/adoption-prequalifying-application

An email will be the first contact you will receive from Nana and Papa's Nest.
