Buttercup & Farm Boy (married couple)'s Story

"Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while." And nothing - not even the cruelest of circumstances - could stop our Farm Boy from finding his way to his true love, Buttercup. Like their namesakes from The Princess Bride, these two pigeons share a love story for the ages, though theirs began in the most unlikely of ways. Farm Boy's early life was no fairy tale. The effects of stringfoot (a cruel condition caused by tangled string and debris) claimed almost all his toes on his right foot and his entire left foot. But as Westley once said, "Life is pain... anyone who says differently is selling something." Yet like his namesake, our Farm Boy refused to let his hardships define him. Now safe in our care, he has discovered the joy of soft bedding beneath his healing feet and the gentle ministrations of those who understand that every bird, no matter their challenges, deserves to live as though they were royalty. And speaking of royalty - enter Buttercup, a fancy domestic highflyer pigeon whose elegant bearing and refined demeanor would put even the Princess of Florin to shame. With the grace of a true princess and the heart of a devoted partner, she saw past Farm Boy's scars to the valiant soul within. As they say, "True love is the best thing in the world, except for coughs drops." (Well, in this case, perhaps soft nesting materials.) Together, these two have created their own fairy tale. Farm Boy may not be able to scale the Cliffs of Insanity, but he navigates his world with remarkable adaptability and courage. Buttercup, meanwhile, channels her ancestral highflyer energy into creating elaborate nests, which Farm Boy helps furnish with all the devotion of a bird who knows the meaning of "As you wish." Their love story needs just one more chapter - a forever home where they can live out their happily ever after. Are you ready to provide the castle (or at least a cozy corner of your home) where this remarkable pair can continue their romance? Unlike the Dread Pirate Roberts, you won't need to wait five years to win their trust - though you might need to stock up on their favorite treats and nesting materials! As for anyone who thinks a pigeon with missing toes can't live a full and happy life? Well, we have only one thing to say to them: "INCONCEIVABLE!" P.S. - We promise no R.O.U.S. (Rodents of Unusual Size) will be included in this adoption package - just two beautiful souls who prove that true love can overcome any obstacle, even in the Fire Swamp... or the urban jungle.
