Auggie's Story
Auggie has one leg that juts out to the side at a jaunty angle, like he got frozen mid-twirl and decided to make it his signature move. The truth behind the dance is a tender one: as a baby, Auggie didn't get the nutrition or the firm, supportive footing a growing squeaker needs for his legs to set straight, so one of them grew at its own angle. It doesnt hurt him, it doesnt slow him down, and honestly it suits him. He looks perpetually mid-celebration! He has plenty to celebrate, too. Auggie is a slate-grey charmer with a near-black head and wings stamped in crisp charcoal checkers, finished with a tuft of baby fuzz still standing straight up on his crown (he is, after all, very much still a baby). His idea of a perfect day is simple: burrow deep into a heap of pillows and blankets, wrestle his favorite toys, and melt into the nearest warm pair of hands. His foster parents will tell you he is a world-class cuddler.

That wonky leg means Auggie does best with low, soft, cushioned spaces and no tall perches to tumble from, which is wonderful news because the blanket-fort lifestyle is exactly the one he'd choose for himself anyway. Give this little dancer a safe place to land and someone to snuggle, and he will love you back with his whole, entirely unhindered heart!
