Andy's Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Hatch Date: February 2018

Andy is a Green Cheek Conure who has been DNA sexed male. He is 7 years old and was surrendered because his previous owners did not have the time or energy to take on the responsibility of a bird.

Andy has quite the personality and loves being out of the cage. He is skilled at flying, though he does not do it often. Andy loves a good bath and is very chatty. If he is overwhelmed, he will screech, but does not do this often.

Andy loves hanging out on his foster mom's shoulder and enjoys occasional head scratches on his terms. He loves to be a part of the action and is a curious guy who likes to be his foster mom’s little helper when she cleans, does work, or gets ready for the day! Andy can get over-excited at times in a loud or hectic environment where he is not getting attention, so he would do best in a calmer environment.

Andy will bite if he is feeling overwhelmed, which is common for Green Cheeks. It takes time for Andy to get used to new people, so it is important to be patient and calm when getting to know him. He is not afraid to tell you how he is feeling. If he is feeling overwhelmed and is being nippy, his foster family will leave him in his cage for a bit until he is ready to interact again.

He currently eats a pellet and seed diet and enjoys carrots, apples, and bananas.

Andy is very sweet and is looking for a loving forever home that can give him the love, and attention he deserves!

Andy has been disease-tested for chlamydia and PBFD (beak and feather disease)

Andy is being fostered in Newtown, PA. He will require in-person visits before adoption.

We do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.

If interested in adopting Andy, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org

Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.
