Tobey Tobias's Story
Tobey Tobias is around one and a half years old and has been passed around a lot during that time. Tobey is an Abyssinian mix, some days he even looks to have a mohawk. He is a sweet boy, who is still a little shy when you go to pick him up, but he likes to be held up high near your neck with two hands. Tobey has now been joined by Teddy, after careful introductions the pair are now looking for a home together. Tobey is an easy keeper; he is currently in a 16 square foot cage and on a night often gets the zommies and you can hear him running around. He does get annoyed if his vegetables are running late and will move his veggie bowl around. Tobey is very particular about which vegetables he will eat. He is not fond of bell peppers, cilantro, kale, broccoli, arugula or any fruit so far. He will eat parsley, and the occasional basil leaf if it is home grown and loves romaine lettuce, spinach, carrots. He also enjoys treats like Marigolds, rose hips, chamomile and pea flakes. It took Tobey a while to become vocal but now when he hears the refrigerator door open, he lets you know he is ready for his veggies. He is quiet at other times.

The minimum cage size for a pair of male guinea pigs is 10 square feet, they must have timothy hay at all times and need fresh vegetables every day that are high in vitamin C. They will need spot cleaning at least every other day and a thorough cleaning one a week. We have them on liners instead of bedding which saves money, which we wash every week. We use Carefresh bedding in their nest and hay area, contained in a cat litter pan, that has an opening at the front for them.

Guinea pigs can make cute and fun little pets, but as with any pets, they require some special care. If you are interested in providing Tobey Tobias and Teddy Theodore with a loving forever home, please check out the links below before submitting an application to make sure you are informed about the care he will need. Tobey and Teddy's adoption fee is $50. Please contact us with any questions!
