The Old Woman who lived in a shoe's Story

The old lady who lived in a shoe has quite the story to tell…
She did not live in a shoe to our knowledge, but she did live in a laundry basket for quite some time in her original home. Her owners became overwhelmed with several accidental litters, and ended up surrendering 10 hamsters to us. Well 10 turned into surprise… 23. Because old lady gave birth to 13 babies a few days after arriving to the rescue. Yes, 13 babies. And we do not think this was her first litter.

Poor old lady has had a rough life, and we are just hoping to find her a nice retirement home to go to. She would prefer to be in her enclosure than be handled, and will tell you that she does not want to be picked up with a warning nibble. For this reason we are looking for a very special, hamster savvy home for her. She will be more of a “look, don’t touch” type of pet. We think.this poor girl deserves a nice break after having to deal with so many babies.
