Sugar & Biscuit 's Story

Meet Sugar and Biscuit

These two sweet girls are recent rescues from the West LA shelter (Jan 6, 2026). Biscuit (the one with more white, on the right) and her bestie Sugar are estimated to be around 2–3 years old, and they’ve already stolen our hearts. 💕

West LA shelter is currently overflowing with guinea pigs, and when volunteer Rosie offered to temporarily foster these girls, we knew we had to say yes. We had committed to taking Biscuit and Sugar before our large New Year’s Eve intake, and even with everything happening, honoring that commitment mattered to us.

These girls are curious, outgoing, and social, and would make wonderful piggies for a loving family. They’re settling in beautifully and showing off their confident little personalities already.

Biscuit and Sugar are currently safe in foster care, but we are actively looking for forever home where they can continue to thrive. If you’ve been thinking about opening your heart and home to guinea pigs, these two could be the perfect match.

We do require a 2 x 4 grid c&c cage or larger to adopt. Please see our care guide here
https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/guinea-pig-care

Southern California Guinea Pig Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopters must fill out an application (available online) and submit a photo or receipt of their cage so we can verify our minimum space requirements are met. After approval, arrangements are made for the adopter to meet the guinea pigs with an experienced volunteer to facilitate the introductions and answer any questions. If trying to pair a single guinea pig with a current pig, the application process is the same but the meeting process is a bit lengthier. The adopter can meet with several single guinea pigs to see which one may be a harmonious match. Initial introductions can last a couple hours and the adopter will go home and reintroduce the guinea pigs and monitor for signs of aggression. If the bond fails, the adopter must separate the guinea pigs and we will make arrangements to take the guinea pig back. Then we repeat until we find a good match.
