Skittles's Story

Update: Baby BOY Skittles has left the building! Today we met the amazing and compassionate Dr. Moore at Bergen County Veterinary Center who was beyond kind and was able to confirm our thought that Skittles is the only boy of the Candy fam. The whole staff was so awesome and everyone was holding and kissing these sweet piggies. Knowing he was at the age to be separated/on his own since he was confirmed as the only male, sweet vet tech Amy offered to adopt Skittles. We couldn’t be happier for our handsome Skittles in finding a forever home. After being born in an animal shelter, Skittles is now going to have a cool bachelor pad and a family to love him. Mama Candy Corn and her two baby girls Twizzler and Sweet Tart will remain as a bonded trio and also moved to their new foster home tonight. So much goodness is in store for these piggies. Thank you to Amy for opening up your heart and home to an animal in need! Enjoy the sweet life, Skittles! ?

Welcome to the Candy Fam! We are formally introducing mama Candy Corn and her candy babies… Skittles, Sweet Tart, and Twizzler! These babies were born on Halloween and when we got an SOS from our local shelter we pulled them out into our only foster spot. The babies were just 3 days old at the time and they were tiny. They’re growing and changing every day right before our eyes. We know there will lots of changes in the weeks to come. Candy Corn is only a baby herself at about 6 months old. We’d love to keep the piggies in pairs of two if the genders work out, and we’re ok adopting them out individually. Genders to follow! We just want these sweet Guinea pigs to have the best lives ever and we know our Hug-a-Bunny family can make it happen for them. We will have to separate them in the weeks to come, so if you’re interested in fostering, or if you’re interested adopting, please email us at hugabunny@gmail.com for more info for an application! #
