Siffrin, Douglas & Brutus's Story

Fostered in Queens, NY.

UPDATE 9/22/25:

These boys are a lot braver than they used to be, and they come over to say hi when I call them. They still don’t enjoy being petted, but I’ve gotten all three of them to the point where they’ll accept a few pets on the head and shoulders. This trio would be perfect for a patient adopter who can love and appreciate independently affectionate rats who enjoy each other, free roaming and taking treats.

UPDATE 8/8/25:

These boys are definitely making progress! All three are happy to pop out and say hello, ask for treats, and sniff fingers. They still don’t like being approached for pets, but if you put your hand in front of them and let them come to you, they’re very friendly and sweet. None of them have ever nipped, not even when they first came to us and were completely terrified. They’re good little guys.

UPDATE 7/28/25:

Siffrin, Douglas, and Brutus are friendly when approached on their terms. All three readily come to my hand for sniffs and occasional licks. However, they don’t like being approached for petting. They’re fine with face rubs when they’re the ones who’ve come to me, just not when I’m the one reaching for them. Siffrin in particular tends to back away. However, all three of them have a cute energy. They love to rip chew toys to shreds, and I’ve recently discovered that they like forage wheels. They’re all still on the smaller side for boys, and I don’t think they’re going to grow much more.
