Pierogi was found during a storm, which do not know how he came to be outside but thankfully he was found. He is a male Syrian hamster often to referred to as a "teddy bear" hamster in pet stores. He has longer fur and interesting markings. Pierogi is a large hamster and while he is a little shy when you initially pick him up, he gets used to you handling him pretty quickly. He is an active little guy, loves climbing, running on his wheel (which will need to be at least 10" in diameter) and enjoys rolling in his sand. He is just a happy little guy who deserves a loving new forever home.<br/><br/>Pierogi is being fostered in Macungie, PA, the adoption fee for Pierogi is $15. <br/><br/>All hamsters are solitary animals and should be housed by themselves. They are crepuscular meaning they prefer to come out during dusk and dawn as well as overnight. For this reason, they do not always make the best pets for children under the age of ten. Hamsters can make cute and fun little pets, but as any pets do, they require some special care. <br/><br/>We recommend all our hamsters regardless of if they are Syrian or dwarf move into a cage that has at least 600 sq inches of continuous floor space. Many cages sold in pet stores will not meet this requirement.
