Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: Breakfast in the morning, floor and couch playtime, dinner in the evening.

BFF: No, but needs a friend in adoptive home.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Guinea pig, friendly. Cats, curious. Dogs, curious.

Health concerns: Penguin has a Microphthalmia (also referred to as microphthalmos), which is a developmental disorder of the eye in which one of her eyes is abnormally small and has an anatomic malformation. She does not have clear vision on the right side, but care should not be any different from your average guinea pig.

Behavioral concerns: None

Other notes: Penguin is a petite gal with a unique outlook on life. She is very curious about the world around her and enjoys cautiously exploring new environments. Like many guinea pigs, she does become shy when you go to pick her up, but once she is safely in your hold she will snuggle into you and chat about her day so far. She is a sweet, friendly lady looking for a home where she can cuddle and explore to her hearts content.

At her foster home Penguin has been introduced to the resident senior guinea pig, and got along very well. If you have a single female looking for a young friend, Penguin could be your match.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Penguin’s foster parent prefers to meet at the MPLS Quarry PetSmart - 1640 New Brighton Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55413 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
