Please visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com to apply to adopt

Pedro!

AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 3 years old
ARRIVAL DATE: October 6th, 2025
GENDER: Neutered Male
LOCATION: Welland, Ontario
ADOPTION FEE: $40
NOTES:
Pedro and Pascal were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services when their owner could no longer give them the care they needed. We were happy to get these cute boys out of the shelter when a foster home became available.
At their vet visit on their rescue day, these two guys were scrapping so much that the staff had to separate them. We weren’t sure if it was the stress of everything happening to them, or if they really just didn’t like each other but the fighting got so intense, separating them was the only option. When they got to their foster home, they were kept in separate enclosures right next to each other so they could still interact without harm. Their foster family took all the right steps to try to re-bond Pedro and Pascal over the next few weeks, but to no avail. These two pigs were just not having it. So, the decision was made to have them both neutered and make them available for adoption separately.

Here’s what Pedro’s foster mom has to say about him:
“Pedro is a hilarious little character! From his first day in foster care, Pedro was taking his vitamin c wafer right from my hand! Within a few days, he was letting me pet him in his enclosure without running away…
He also has no trouble letting you know when he wants treats, salad or attention! He stands up on his hind legs and rattles his cage bars with his teeth until you come over and give him what he’s asking for! He also lets you give him nose boops through the bars! He’s one of the friendliest and outgoing little piglets I’ve fostered!
He definitely would love to have an outgoing female piggie to bond with!”

Please adopt Pedro!
Visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com to apply
