Peanut and Kato's Story

Peanut is an approximately 10 month old male rat. Kato is a 7 month old male rat. They are both super friendly and love to sit and cuddle. Kato in particular is so friendly that when his foster cuddles him and pets him softly he squeaks with delight. They are both dark gray/brown with white markings on their bellies. His foster speculates that Peanut may be a dumbo/rex mix. They are bonding quite nicely and would love to have a forever home where they can share their adorably playful personalities. Since they are bonded they must be adopted together.

Rats make great pets. They love to be handled and run around in balls. Rats are also a low maintenance pet, they virtually have no smell and cage clean ups are easy with them. They will eat just about anything, but still need a good rat diet of high quality pelleted food, greens and fruits. Their favorite is doggie biscuits which is good for their teeth to be able to gnaw on them. If you have never had a pet rat before, consider them a great first small critter pet. They do best in pairs. Some like to run around in a wheel, but they definitely need a wire cage because they love to climb. It is so cool to see them interact with each other and snuggle together to sleep.

Rats will only be adopted in bonded (same gendered) pairs. Our rat adoption fee is 10$ for the bonded pair. For more information on adopting a rattie please email us. Adopters must be at least 18 years old.
