Micky & Steve's Story
Fostered in Salem, MA.

UPDATE 3/4/26:

Micky (hooded) has become very friendly, approaching eagerly for treats, allowing himself to be pet and even scooped up with a little bit of fussing.

Steve, like a lot of PEWs, is a little more cautious, but will approach for treats and can even get scooped up from time to time. Neither has bitten us or attempted to bite us.

They’re two big lazy boys who spend most of their day lounging around but will wake up readily for treats and have started to really enjoy some careful hand-wrestling. I think these two will thrive in an environment where they can spend a lot of time exposed to people (and take naps with them!). They are slowly but surely learning to enjoy human company and be as sweet and silly with us as they are with each other. They are both super-mellow with each other, we’ve heard zero squabbling, and they have shown calm interest in the girls downstairs as well.

We haven’t introduced them to any other rats but I suspect they would do just fine.
