Mars and Monte's Story
Mars and Monte are brothers who need to be housed separately but right next to each other. They were born in August of 2022 and have never been without each other.

Mars and Monte are from a home where their parents were allowed to breed which created a huge issue for the home trying to take care of all the guineas. Sadly, the boys didn't get handled much so when they came to us, they were quite skittish with loud sounds and arms reaching into the cage.

The boys have gained quite a bit of confidence and aren't as skittish, but they are still a bit flighty. They still aren't fans of being picked up, they'll try to wiggle away, but once you have them in your lap they're calm and content! They love treats and will eagerly stand up on the side of their enclosure waiting for something to snack on. They are both also huge fans on being on top of their hides and are very nosy to anything happening around them.

The boys are typical teenagers and sometimes have a lot to say about the other in their space. A perfect home would provide them with their own space but give them access to talk and see each other through the cage bars. The boys also cannot travel in the same carrier and need to ride in separate carriers. They eat a LOT of hay and get so excited when a new pile is put inside their enclosure to enjoy. Mars especially loves snuggling into blankets. He even will roll himself up like a little burrito before taking a nap!

Mars and Monty's adoption fee is $35. If you're interested in adopting them, please email us at tinytailsandscales@gmail.com. We do have cages we can also send with them to allow an easy transition into their new home!

We are a foster-based rescue located in the Lacey/Olympia area. At this time we are unable to accommodate adoptions outside of Washington. We do not ship animals.
