Meet Lilly

Meet Lilly! They came into the shelter after their owner had too many animals. Guinea pigs are social creatures and need to live in same sex pairs or more for them to live happy, healthy lives. Has not had a chance to meet cats or dogs in previous home. Slow and proper introductions are recommended. Enjoys bell peppers for fresh vegetables. Used to being handled and spending supervised time outside their cage. Pigs are very vocal creatures and love to squeal, chirp, squeak, and whistle! A properly sized cage for two guinea pigs is a minimum 8 sq ft of floor space. A small hidey house inside the cage is required so the guinea pig has a private place to snooze. Guinea pigs require unlimited amounts of fresh Timothy Hay every day. Guinea pigs are unable to produce their own Vitamin C and therefore require supplements or Vitamin C fortified pellets on a daily basis. Some guinea pig-safe foods are: parsley, bell peppers, Romaine lettuce, carrots, spinach, green alfalfa, grapes, apples, and cranberry. Pigs also need daily exercise outside of their cage to stretch their legs- this is also a great time to bond with your piggies! Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, micro-chipping, vaccinating, de-worming, any medical procedures and general care ~~DEPOSITS MAY BE PLACED ON ADOPTABLE ANIMALS by calling 320-252-0896
