Personality: Curious, Friendly toward humans, Hesitant, Inquisitive, Mouthy (puts mouth on you but does not bite down, usually thinking your fingers are food), Nervous, Quiet, Readily allows you to pick it up

Favorite treats: Nuts and seeds

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Hamster & Gerbil Food

Favorite toys and activities: Running on his wheel.

Potty trained: No

This animal’s daily routine: Short bursts of interaction to increase tolerance of being handled.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): None, this animal prefers to live alone.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: dog - No reaction.

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Yes- hesitant. Doesn’t like loud noises or movements. Will tolerate being held sitting down. Likes head pets. Not below shoulders

Health concerns: None

Other notes: We are gradually working on increasing his time out and time with people. Kids pet him in adult hands. He loves to zoom around his cage while we watch! And we LOVE watching him fill and empty his cheek pouches!!

Lamoni came to MNPPR after being irresponsibly gifted.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Maple Grove Chuck & Don's - 8115 Wedgewood Ln N Suite 1, Maple Grove, MN 55369 or Petsmart - 1425 E 7th St, Monticello, MN 55362 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
