Joey's Story
Hello from joey! He is an approximately 3 month old male gerbil with the longest tail you've ever seen! He is still learning that hands aren't so scary, but honestly has not put up too much fuss for handling. Joey is very outgoing, you'll almost always catch him up front of his enclosure saying hello to everyone that passes by!

Joey came in with a couple girlfriends that went to foster for pregnancy watch, so he currently is a solo gerbil. There is potential of him being able to get along with another male gerbil after very slow introductions, or as long as you provide lots of enrichment and socialization, he can be happy as a solo gerbil.

New to owning gerbils, or need a brush up on their care? Here is a link to some gerbil care: https://www.animalhumanesociety.org/resource/gerbil-care

Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you're prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.
