Hera & Demeter's Story

Fostered in Rochester, NH.

UPDATE 1/5/26:

Hera – Mother to the litter. Very brave and adventurous. She is always the first one to explore during free roam times. She’s started to give little kisses too.

Demeter – Sister to Hera, Aunt to the rest. She’s more reserved than her sister and prefers cuddling in her nest over playing. She has met big cuddly boy rats and really would love to spend more time with them. She does not like anyone to reach into her hide or hammock when she is in them – she may bite. She is fine once she is out.

UPDATE 10/27/25:

Hera (Mom) and Demeter (Aunt) are close and it would be best for them to go together. Both can be timid and will nip if startled or agitated. They aren’t aggressive, but I wouldn’t put them in a home with young children.
The babies do spend time with each adult, but there’s no preference to who they cuddle with.
