Meet Hamtaro

Hamtaro is a young Syrian hamster who arrived to us from the city shelter. This adorable boy was likely neglected before being surrendered to the shelter; he was thin and very fearful when we first met him, but with good nutrition and lots of positive attention, Hamtaro has flourished into a healthy, curious, and friendly hamster who enjoys the company of humans.

Syrian hamsters are a solitary breed. As such, they need to be housed individually after a certain age, or they will fight viciously enough to inflict serious injury or even death to each other. Hamtaro is approximately 6 months old, mellow, and quite the athlete. He is looking for a forever home with an experienced or beginner hamster guardian, either on his own or with other hamsters as long as he can have a sufficiently large enclosure of his own, and a secure and enriched play area to explore and rearrange to his liking.
