Georgie

Georgie has had it quite rough in his year of life. He was adopted out to a loving home and made friends with a new housemate. Sadly his cage mate passed away leaving him all alone. Since ratties do better with others the family found it best to return him than continue the cycle of getting more ratties. <br/><br/>After being back with us for a short amount of time, we thought we found him the best situation of an older friend and rat savvy family. Sadly for multiple reasons it didn’t work out despite the best efforts. <br/><br/>Georgie needs a quite home, with no kids and needs to be socialized a lot for him to feel comfortable with new people. In rescue we NEVER recommend feeding animals (especially rats) through the cage bars as it creates bad tendencies of nipping or expecting everything to be a snack when likely it could just be a finger. In rescue he has never nipped but in the 2nd adoptive home there were reports of him nipping which we associate to stress.
