Fish Tank Boys's Story

Meet the Fish Tank Boys!

These boys had been neglected and in very cramped space without food or toys before being rescued and have spent the last several months hard at work learning all about how they should have been treated all along. They’ve learned people are good, veggies are great and being safe and cared for is the best!

These boys would love to be adopted in pairs! They have limited exposure to animals and kids – they’ve seen cats, heard a dog barking, they have spent a little time with pre-teens.

The Quieter Boys: Would do best in a bigger cage – preferably 12 square feet

Newman: Born ~Feb 2025. Dad to Jerry, George and Kramer

Gentle, curious, a little shy, observant, doesn’t know how to do anything wrong, very sweet

Would love a home with soft hideys for him to nap and feel safe in

Easy to pick up – will often stand still and let you pick him up

Wheeks for veggies! LOVES mint, dandelion, dill, cilantro

Will tuck in and watch a show with you

Not sure if you might want a pet bird? That’s okay! Your shoulder is his safe spot when being held

Sometimes looks like he could use a day off from solo parenting his 3 sons

George: Born ~March 2025

The gentle giant, sweet, inquisitive, very good for nail trims, a little shy

Big popcorner!

Isn’t shy about providing you with feedback in real time

Loves to have the top of his head gently scratched and his massive mohawk admired

Would love a home with paper bags (with the handles cut, of course) for him to hide and nap in

Likes having options – one cheek has white whiskers, and one cheek has black whiskers

Loves dandelions, mint, and his dad, Newman

The Action Boys: Would do best in a bigger cage – preferably 12sqft. Once in a while, they need a break from each other for a day or so. They’re still young and enjoy testing dominance at times. They don’t truly fight or bite each other, but they get annoyed.

Jerry: Born ~March 2025

Very curious and bold, sweet and likes to be first to check out something new

Likes cheek and back scratches

Has been the smallest of the litter, but has a huge personality

Would love to climb his way into your heart... and out of his fencing if he’s there alone. Has major FOMO and doesn’t want to be left alone with his thoughts

Popcorns!

Loves dandelions!

Trusting - doesn’t run away if you’re standing next to or over him

Doesn’t respect personal space – runs over our feet

Kramer: Born ~March 2025

Very curious and semi-bold, sweet and likes to be first to check out something new. Class clown!

Say “step step” when holding out your hand to pick him up and he’ll put his front feet in your hand

Likes to have the top of his head, chin and cheeks scratched

Sensitive to medication. If he ever needs meds, he will likely need supportive care, such as being monitored by a vet and/or being syringe fed

Will jump onto your shoulder from your chest/lap to feel safe and secure. Preferred spot!

Loves dandelions!

Will settle in with you and watch a show.

About All 4 Boys!

They all had exams in December 2025 by a board-certified exotics vet.

Drink from water bowls and not water bottles

Love veggies! Not big into fruit! Will sometimes eat blueberries, and George and Jerry will eat a small bit of banana or carrot occasionally

Dislike phone sounds – reminder to put your phone down and be in the present, with them!

They prefer Orchard grass over Timothy hay and will eat both.

Nibble to assess and communicate: They will put their teeth on your fingers to see if you have food for them. They may also use this to communicate when they’re annoyed (such as during their pedicures or having their pockets cleaned), or when they’d like to stop being held and go back to bed. This only happens if you ignore them the first few times they tell you.

They have been loved, socialized and cared for by experienced guinea pig foster parents who have committed to always be a resource for you during the boys’ lives. If you have questions about how to care for them (nail trims, cleaning pockets, etc), their preferences (food, toys, etc) and their experiences, please feel free to reach out to their foster parents. Also, should life circumstances change and you are no longer able to keep them, their foster parents will take them back from you at any time. Please keep their contact info for any point in the future and feel free to reach out any time.

All approved adopters will need to provide proof of a guinea pig safe cage that is well-ventilated with no wire bottoms or ramps.

The adoption fee for each pair of boys is $40.
