Fabio's Story

Current Location: Ft. Collins CO Fabio is a single male looking for his forever home. He doesn't get along well with other piggies and must be adopted solo. Fabio has a long story to tell. Fabio the senior polydactyl came to us (Cavies and Canines) emaciated and infected with lice. After a simple surgery to remove his extra toes, we discovered he had a thyroid tumor causing hyperthyroidism and associated complications. After a successful thyroidectomy surgery, he was beginning to recover. Unfortunately, his remaining thyroid has not been able to compensate for what was removed. Luckily though, Fabio has bounced back wonderfully, and is now ready to find a forever home. More experienced owner required to adopt Fabio. He has special needs: A daily thyroid replacement medication He also does not get along well with other piggies, and must be kept separated by himself. ********** Cavies and Canines Animal Rescue is a PACFA licensed non-profit guinea pig rescue based in Fort Collins, CO. All of the guinea pigs in our rescue are cared for by foster families while waiting for their forever home.
