Damon's Story
Meet Damon! He is a white/tan point Standard rat. He comes from a home of 150 rats so he is a tad more scared of the world than the normal rat. He could use some work on becoming more social and hand friendly.

Your rat’s diet should consist mainly of high-quality, pelleted rat food, which can be available to them all day. You can also offer bite-sized bits of fresh fruit and vegetables daily, such as peas, broccoli, carrots, apples, and bananas.

Rats are very social creatures and should be kept in groups of at least 2. Rats need a cage with a minimum of 2.5 cubic feet, with wire siding, ramps, and platforms they can climb on, with enough room for their food, water, toys, and hiding spots. Rats are very intelligent creatures and need toys, puzzles, tunnels, and other enrichment to keep them mentally stimulated.

Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you're prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.
