Catan's Story
Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process
________________________________________________________________________________
Catan is such a sweet girl, but it will take some time and patience to get her to warm up.

Catan was my most nervous rat when we first got her. She would ninja her way out of your hands when you'd hold her. She is still shy and nervous, but comes out more and takes treats from us.

Estimated birth date: 5/20/24

Personality: Curious, Funny, Hesitant, Nervous, Quiet, Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc)

Favorite treats: Bananas and eggs

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat Food, Fruit, Veggies

Favorite toys and activities: Zooming around when I'm drying my hair

Potty trained: Litter box trained

This animal’s daily routine: Evening playtime

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Battleship, Risk, and Catan are a bonded trio and must be adopted together.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dog - runs away and hides

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Older children - hides

Health concerns: None
Medical note: Battleship, Risk, and Catan are spayed/neutered.

Behavioral concerns: We're working on associating the cage door opening with gentle touch and treats. She is finally taking treats from our hands, but she still doesn't like being held. She hides a lot, and if we try to hold her, she does her ninja moves and tries to jump out. We'll keep working on it. Still shy, but much more open to taking treats and being held occasionally

AS OF 10/22/25, Catan has graduated from the trust training program!

Transferred from The Pipsqueakery

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart, 299 12th St SW, Forest Lake, MN 55025 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Fee: Battleship, Risk & Catan have a combined adoption fee of $350

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.

Catan's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored.
