Cashew's Story

Cashew and Pistachio are actually a brother and sister pair (Pistachio is a neutered male)! They are popular with staff and the visitors to the shelter. They have always lived together so they're looking for a home together. They came to the shelter because their former owner was moving and not able to take them. She loved them so it was difficult. They are currently on a diet, added exercise encouraged with hay-filled food puzzles. Treats are prohibited at this time as it seems they have been so loved, their waistlines have grown... A sign is now posted for visitors (and staff!) and for motivation purposes because even guinea pigs sometimes need a friendly reminder to keep healthy. Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire's Adoption Policy

All adoptions are done on an appointment only basis, for specific animals. No animals have multiple families visiting them at one time, this wouldn't be fair to them or for you. Because of this, we do not book out appointment more than 24-48 hours in advance. We are CLOSED for browsing at this time to keep the stress level of the animals in our care as low as possible. Thank you for your understanding! We DONT have online applications, we prefer to have a open line of communication with our potential adopters. Our process is more educational based. Our adoption counselors will be able to tell you if the animal you're interested in will be able to go home the same day.
