Thanks for taking a look at this cutie patootie! Our rescue is at max capacity but we are doing a courtesy post for this guinea and his brother to try and help them get good homes! Please send a message describing any experience with small animal ownership, whether you have a cage already or need 1, and a little background information about your home environment. <br/><br/>They are available together or separately since their bond is not good. <br/>Even tho guineas are bonded animals and we would normally require that they stay together or get a same-sex companion, these brothers have been together their whole lives and still do not appear to have a reliable bond without fighting. The owner who currently has them was only recently given the pigs. She said they were given to her as a bonded pair BUT they fight pretty badly and she has kept them separate since they showed real aggression towards each other during free roam playtime. A very experienced owner would be encouraged to try and bond these guys (together or to another male) but they are also able to be adopted separately. <br/><br/>The owner was told they are apx 2-3 years old. That can be senior age for guinea pigs! They are also capable of living 5-6+ years so be prepared that these guys could pass sometime soon or be a companion for a few more years. We do not want to see senior animals rehomed again and again in their final days, as bouncing around every few months is very stressful for them! Please be committed to the animal's needs if you're considering adopting. PARENTS AND TEACHERS please understand any pet your kids want is YOUR PET to care for and you are choosing the responsibility to keep this animal thruout their lifetime, even when the child loses interest! You are responsible to keep the animal safe and model commitment to your kids. These animals are not toys. <br/><br/>PERSONALITY: The piggies can be held. They are very social after a few days of settling in and they squeak during feedings. They are pretty content to wander around during supervised "free roam" time. Not terribly spooked like some can be. Guinea pigs tend to be very flighty prey animals who don't love a lot of holding. These boys would be more confident than some and okay pets for children but please explain to any children the expectations. Guinea pigs will get along with you better when you respect them, leave them on the floor, and offer snacks like veggies from your hands. They will not enjoy quick movements, loud noises, being picked up in any type of rough child-like manner, and not respecting them can lead to bites. <br/><br/>Adoption fee is $20 on each boy. They can come with a cage for $40. The price is somewhat negotiable but we have this in place to ensure responsible serious adopters. The current owner is located in Poinciana (Kissimmee) FL and pickup for approved adopters will be at a public location in Poinciana.
