Alfred's Story

Alfred was abandoned in a tote behind Walmart. Nobody found him until the following day and it had rained during the night, so the tote had flooded. There were other rats who had escaped but Alfred was so scared he was curled up on top of some pants that were in the tote. Underneath him were newborn pinkies, presumably his babies. They were cold and wet but still alive. We believe the mother ran off upon the rats being discovered. Sadly the baby rats did not live despite our best efforts. Alfred is a sweet boy but understandably very skittish. He is fine with being picked up/pet but sudden movements make him nervous. We hope to find him a home with other males who will help him open up and be more confident.
