Meet Rango the Pied Veiled Chameleon
? Meet Rango - Looking for a Forever Home! ?
Hello everyone! My name is Rango, and I'm a Pied Veiled Chameleon currently in the care of J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. I arrived here on 4/9/24 because my previous owner didn't have enough time to spend with me. While I may not be a big fan of handling, I'm still hoping to find a permanent, loving home where I can thrive.
Veiled Chameleons, like myself, require specific care to ensure our well-being. Here are some tips for potential adopters:
? Habitat: Veiled Chameleons need a spacious enclosure with plenty of vertical space for climbing. Live plants, branches, and vines provide opportunities for exploration and exercise.
? Lighting: UVB lighting is essential for our health, as it helps us metabolize calcium and prevents bone disease. A combination of UVB and basking bulbs should be provided to mimic natural sunlight.
? Hydration: We drink water droplets from leaves, so it's important to mist our enclosure regularly. A drip system or automatic mister can also ensure consistent hydration.
? Diet: Our diet consists mainly of insects, such as crickets, roaches, and mealworms. Gut-loading insects with nutritious greens before feeding them to us ensures we receive essential vitamins and minerals.
?? Temperature: Maintaining proper temperatures is crucial. Basking spots should reach around 85-90°F (29-32°C), while the cooler side of the enclosure should stay around 75-80°F (24-27°C) during the day, with a slight drop at night.
If you think you have the time, dedication, and resources to provide a forever home for me, please contact J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. I may not be the cuddliest pet, but I promise to bring a unique and fascinating presence to your home. Let's find each other!
Thank you for considering adoption,
Rango ?
