Waffles's Story
Courtesy post -

Adopt Waffles!

“Waffles” is a file snake, Limaformosa [Mehelya] crossi.

He was surrendered to me in February. After months of meds and tube feeding, we have eliminated parasites, he is eating on his own, and he is slowly gaining weight. He is looking for an *experienced* permanent home.

Needs:
• A 4x2x2 (long, active boy!)
•Someone who can switch him to f/t and will continue supporting his weight gain
•Someone with a positive relationship with/references from a good exotics vet

Considerations:
•He has pentastomes (a lung parasite). He has been treated, and is not shedding ova anymore. I will discuss this more at length with prospective caretakers so you are well-informed.
•He currently only eats live, or f/t in conjunction with live

He’s a really unique animal and it has been amazing to watch him heal and start to show his personality. We’ve been working on choice based handling and he comes out to visit sometimes when it’s offered. He’s increasingly active on camera (they are nocturnal but he starts his day at about 8pm) and it’s a riot to watch. I’m confident that he’ll make an awesome pet for the right caretaker. I am in no hurry to place him- expect a discussion/questions if you reach out (I am also happy to answer any questions).

Ithaca, NY. Will not ship.

Contact melafadden@gmail.com
