Tina's Story
Intake date: 5/11/25
Status: Available on 9/18/25

**This animal CANNOT be adopted out to somebody in NC. She MUST be adopted out of state to a state where they are legal. We do ship species that must go out of state to approved adopters, who are responsible for shipping costs.**

Tina is a subadult female Cuban tree frog who was found as hitchhiker in an aquarium somebody purchased secondhand. Cuban tree frogs are illegal to own in NC and many other southern states, so she was transported to us by NCWRC and they have given us permission to adopt her out to a state where they are legal. Tina is shy and hides a lot but has a good appetite and is in good shape.

We do not recommend handling amphibians in general due to the sensitivity of their skin. Cuban tree frogs especially should not be handled unless absolutely necessary as they are very fast and jumpy, as well as quite poisonous if a pet gets ahold of them. Tina would do well in a 20 gallon+ arboreal tank that is bioactive. Tina's adoption fee is $25.

PLEASE READ!
If you are interested in adopting this animal, you need to fill out an application at https://bewildnc.org/apply/. Read the application carefully and answer the questions thoroughly. Above all, be honest! Research the species you would like to adopt in advance and consult multiple sources, we are happy to answer questions. We can arrange shipping at the adopter's expense for an approved adopter, or the adopter can pick up in person. We will work with the NCWRC to get an export permit; we cover this $10 cost and filing the paperwork.
