Spike's Story

Spike is a 11-13 year old male sulcata tortoise who came into our rescue on March 1. On intake, he weighed 43.6 pounds and measures about 15 inches long by 13 inches wide. Part of his shell is concave and we are unsure if something happened to him or he may just have a genetic defect. The previous owner noted it was there years ago when Spike was a much smaller guy. We will keep you updated with how he settles into his foster home, but we can already tell this big gentleman is a very sweet boy. Spike should be ready to go to his forever home on April 1, so if you are interested in adopting him, please reach out and let us know!

This animal requires a 25’x12’ enclosure. Outdoor pens must be secured into the ground at least 12 inches to ensure they will not dig and escape. Proof of habitat will be requested at time of adoption inquiry.

If you are interested in adopting Spike, please reach out to us at christinaspets@netzero.net, text us at 610-390-1655 or start an inquiry on this page.
Must be able to travel to the Palmerton, PA area for pick up.

After ensuring the adopter is ready for the animal, we set up a time for them to come and meet the pet. If it seems like a good fit on both the adopter's end, as well as the rescue's end, they are able to take the animal home. All adoptions happen in Palmerton, PA. We do not ship animals.
