Penelope's Story

Intake Date: 9/7/25
Available

Penelope is an adult female bearded dragon who was found in an abandoned apartment with three other bearded dragons, all in rough shape. Penelope was initially very skinny. She has an excellent appetite and loves bugs and salads! Penelope is very active and is pretty easy to handle, though she may mistake fingers for food inside her cage.

Penelope can occasionally have soft stools. She has tested negative for parasites many times and been on several prophylactic anti-parasitic medications. In neglected or emaciated bearded dragons with previous poor diets, their gut flora can suffer permanently. We offer probiotics but this may be a chronic, lifelong issue. A smooth tile substrate will be easiest to clean. Penelope's adoption fee is $60.

Penelope will require a minimum 4' x 2' x 2' enclosure.

Care guide: https://bewildnc.org/bearded-dragon/

PLEASE READ!
If you are interested in adopting this animal, you need to fill out an application at www.bewildnc.org/apply.
