MEET ONYX: <br/>Onyx was surrendered to Reptilia and looking for her new beginning!<br/><br/>ENCLOSURE:<br/>The bigger the better! Recommended size is 36” x 18” x 18” enclosure.<br/>SUBSTRATE:<br/>There are a variety of substrates that can be suitable for Leopard Geckos, however, Reptilia uses a combination of both soil and sand mix. <br/>Substrate should be at least 3" deep to facilitate burrowing behaviours. <br/><br/>HIDES:<br/>Multiple hides are a great idea. Providing a humid hide and a dry hide option are excellent ways to help with shedding and ensure your gecko feels safe. <br/><br/>LIGHTING:<br/>Contrary to some belief, Leopard geckos do require lighting. UVB for a leopard Gecko should be: 0.5 – 1.5. <br/><br/>TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY:<br/>Basking surface temperature: 94-97°F <br/>Cool end: 70-77°F<br/>Ambient should be around 30-40% and be 70%-80% humidity within the humid hide.<br/><br/>DIET:<br/>Carnivore. Feeding insects like crickets, superworms with calcium supplements about two times a week is ideal for an adult Leopard gecko. <br/><br/>WATER:<br/>Offer fresh water from a dish at all times.<br/><br/>SHEDDING:<br/>Increase humidity during shedding. Shedding happens over a few days in pieces. Do not fear if you do not see the shed, as they do eat their own shed often. <br/><br/>TEMPERAMENT:<br/>Leopard geckos can be defensive and skittish when they are unsure of their surroundings or handler, working with your leopard gecko to increase its comfort level and learning about their body language can help ensure that both owner and gecko become confident in each other. <br/><br/>LIFESPAN:<br/>10-20 years
