Jewels #11456's Story

Meet Jewels – A Love Story in the Making!

Jewels is a stunning, inquisitive Nile monitor looking for a forever home where patience, experience, and love can help this shy heart truly shine. Though still learning to trust, Jewels has a gentle soul and is slowly discovering that humans aren’t so scary after all. With the right person—someone who understands the needs of large monitors—Jewels is ready to build a lifelong bond.

Jewels may play coy, preferring to watch the world from a safe distance, but don’t be fooled—this lizard is full of curiosity and intelligence! A steady, gentle approach is the key to winning Jewels’ heart, along with plenty of delicious meals (food is definitely the way to this reptile’s heart!). Handling is still a work in progress, but with time, consistency, and trust-building, Jewels has the potential to become a wonderful companion.

As a Nile monitor, Jewels has a lot of growing to do! This species can reach up to 6.5 feet long and weigh around 15-17 pounds, meaning they need a very large, secure enclosure with plenty of space to explore. Standard pet store tanks won’t cut it—Jewels needs a proper setup to live a happy, healthy life!

Jewels’ journey to love wasn’t an easy one—this lizard was found wandering a parking lot before being taken in by a shelter. Thankfully, a kind-hearted volunteer saw the potential for a fresh start, and now Jewels is waiting for the perfect person to provide a forever home filled with patience and understanding.

Are you ready for a one-of-a-kind reptilian romance?
