Fred

Fred is a 10 year old, male Russian tortoise who was taken in to our rescue on June 30. He has quite the personality, that's for sure! This wild guy has some big feelings and tends to chase you around. He hasn't bit anyone before, but he will come over to you with his mouth open to check you out. We were hoping that this behavior would calm down with some socialization, however, he still has the same feelings about strange things. We have tried to see how he does with other tortoises, but he is not very friendly with them, so he would have to be the only tortoise in his enclosure. Fred eats very well when he has some quiet time to himself and he is not picky at all with his greens. He is looking for a home that will understand his goofy personality and take some time with him as he settles and learns that not everything is scary. <br/><br/>This animal requires an outdoor enclosure approximately measuring 8'x4' for the warmer months. For an indoor enclosure, we would love it if you are able to provide an 8'x4' size enclosure.
