Valerie's Story

Come call on Valerie! This shy but sassy little bunny is just beginning to discover how wonderful life with humans can be. She’s curious, gentle, and full of personality, especially when her playful side comes out!

Mornings are Valerie’s time to shine. She’ll zoomie around the room, showing off her joyful binkies like a tiny acrobat. When she’s feeling brave, she’ll hop over to investigate you, give a quick nose boop, and then dash away like it was all part of her plan. She’s still learning that being touched isn’t so scary. While she’s not a fan of pets or being handled just yet, Valerie is making progress, especially when treats are involved. She’ll delicately take snacks right from your fingers and is starting to accept gentle forehead touches during treat time. Valerie is also a bunny yoga guru. Expect frequent stretch sessions followed by the cutest little yawns. When it comes to playtime, Valerie loves zooming through tunnels and cardboard hideouts, tossing around her bell ball like a tiny athlete, chewing on grass toys, solving snuffle mats and stacking cups, and climbing and exploring her space. She has excellent litter box habits (she even prefers to snack while she’s in there as the multitasking queen she is). Whether she likes cats, dogs, or kids is unknown. As this mama settles into her next chapter of her life now that her babies are grown and living on their own, we’re still learning how she feels about other bunnies: she may prefer some peace and quiet after all those kids!

Valerie would thrive in a home where she has space to run, explore, and retreat into cozy hides when she needs quiet time. She’s currently enjoying her own room but could grow into a wonderful free-roam bunny with patience and understanding. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful companion with a dash of sass and a lot of heart, Valerie might just be your girl so fill out an application at www.iowarabbitrescue.org/adopt!
